After earning a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Health Sciences from Duquesne University, Sarah completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2007. Sarah spent the first three years of her career in an outpatient orthopedic setting before joining the Hertel and Brown team as facility director of the Harborcreek office. She recently earned her McKenzie Method certification and continues to cultivate her passion for manual therapy of the spine and extremities by ongoing additional training, including:
- McKenzie Method certification for the treatment of neck and back pain, bulging discs and sciatica
- Comprehensive manual therapy of cervical/lumbar spine
- Mulligan Concept of Joint Mobilization
- Fascial Movement Taping (FMT) Level 1 certification (also known as kinesiotaping)
Sarah fulfilled the requirements to earn her Direct Access Certification, which allows her to see patients without a physician referral. This includes extensive education in differential diagnosis and medical screening.
